Black gram salad is a tangy tasty and healthy salad recipe. Black Gram is a tremendous source of digestive enzymes and also rich in amino acids, vitamins, proteins, fibers, low in fat, and has a very low glycemic index.

You can use simply soaked overnight, also you can use sprouted, when you use sprouted one it is much healthy. The process of sprouting increases the nutrition value and becomes easy to digest.


  • 2 Cup Black gram sprouted
  • 1 Avocado
  • 1 Cup Fresh Tomato (1 medium tomato)
  • 1/2 Cup Pomegranate
  • 1/2 Cup Cucumber
  • 1 tsp lemon juice or according to taste
  • 2 tbsp Oil (Veg.oil for Vegan option)
  • 1 tsp Cumin Seed
  • 1/2 tsp Turmeric Powder
  • 1/2 tsp Chat Masala Powder
  • 1/4 cup Cilantro fresh leaves
  • 1/2 tsp Red chili or per your taste
  • 1/2 tsp Salt (as per taste) 

It is easy to make, very delicious and healthy snack, it is very filling and can also be eaten as a breakfast or as meal. You can create and add fruits and vegetable according to you taste. Create your own and share with us.

Step by Step Instructions

Step 1

Boil 2 cups of spouted black gram chana with 1 cup of water. In cooker for 10-15 minutes or 2-3 whistle.

Step 2

While the black gram is boiling, we can prepare the fresh ingredeients. Fresh Pomegranate seeds and cut Avocado, chop tomato and coriander. At keep then aside.

Step 3

Take a pan and add 2 tablespoon oil, heat it and add cumin seeds and all the spices. Add boiled black gram/ sprouted black gram. Sauté for 4-5 minutes.

Step 4

Put it in Bowl and add all chopped veggies. Add salt, add lemon juice according to your taste. Mix well.

Step 5

Garnish with Coriander leaves and serve and enjoy awesome salad.
