Ingredients
- 1 lb Okra fresh
- 3 tbsp Oil
- 1 Medium finely chopped Onion
- 1 tbsp Chopped coriander leaves
- 10-15 Curry leaves (If available)
- 1 Green chilies (according to taste)
- 2 Red dried chiles (Remove seeds)
- 1 tsp finely chopped or grated – Ginger
- 1 tsp Cumin seeds
- 1 tsp Coriander powder
- 1 tsp Turmeric powder
- 1/2 tsp Red chili (As per taste)
- 1 tsp Mango powder
- 1 tsp Garam Masala
- 1 tsp Salt (As per taste)
Tips for cutting Okara:
Okra is a wonderful vegetable. With high nutritional value, it is also known as Lady finger’s, Gumbo and Bhindi.
Tip: Always wash and keep it to dry. As when you cut it dry it is not lacy, and it cooks easily.
Step by Step Instructions
Step 1
Wash the Okra (lady finger or Bhindi). Make sure its dry before cutting.
Step 2
Add 3 table of spoon of oil in a pan and put it on medium heat. Add mustard seeds till it crackles then add cumin seeds to the oil after that add red full pepper, curry leaves and saute it. Ater 1-2 minutes, add finely chopped onion sauté them. Cook for 2-3 minutes till little golden brown add green pepper, ginger and garlic.
Step 3
Add the cut Okra and mix and cover it let it cook on low to mdium heat for 4-5 minutes. After that add the spices turmeric, red chili, coriander powder Add mango powder and garam masala. Let it slowly cook together 3-4 minutes.
Step 4
Add finely chopped fresh corriender leaves.
Step 5
Serve hot with Indian bread ( Chapati, Paratha, Puri, etc.) or rice.
